Abstract:
The power storage system according to an embodiment is provided with a first power storage device for discharging electrical power through a power line to one or a plurality of devices of a power supply destination or charging electrical power so as to store electrical power supplied from one or a plurality of devices of a power supply source, and a second power storage device connected via a power line to the first power storage device, the second power storage device performing charging/discharging with respect to the first power storage device, the power storage system performing charge/discharge control of the first power storage device and the second power storage device on the basis of a charge/discharge command value, wherein the power storage system is provided with a control system for controlling the charge/discharge electrical power of the second power storage device so that the power storage rate of the first power storage device is brought within a prescribed power storage rate range and controlling the charge/discharge electrical power of the first power storage device on the basis of the charge/discharge electrical power corresponding to the charge/discharge command value and the charge/discharge electrical power of the second power storage device. Therefore, it is possible, in a power storage system in which the charging/discharging of a first power storage device is assisted by the charging/discharging of a second power storage device, to secure the assistive operation of the second power storage device at all times, and minimize the rated charge/discharge power of the second power storage device while inhibiting the size of the power storage system from increasing.
