Abstract:
The present invention improves cooling performance in a direct-drive power tool in which a motor is housed in a sealed metal case. A grinder, having a metal cylindrical motor housing 30 that houses a brushless DC motor, and a grindstone 60 mounted on a rotary shaft (17) extending downwards from the motor housing 30, wherein the motor 10 has a structure that is sealed by a cylindrical part 31, a top cover 35, and a bottom cover 40. The motor housing 30 has formed thereon an extending part 30b for mounting a wheel guard 65, and on the inner side of the extending part 30b, a fan 50 is mounted on the rotary shaft (17). Air flows along the lower surface of the motor housing 30 due to the rotation of the fan 50, and the motor 10 is also cooled through the motor housing 30.
