Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a print device that can print on accurate positions even when the material being printed on is slanted. [Solution] A print device A for printing on an upper surface of a steel plate 2 conveyed by a conveyor 1, the print device A having: a print unit B having a print head 10 that prints on the upper surface of the steel plate; a tilt detection unit C that detects the tilt of the steel plate; a thickness detection unit D that detects the thickness of the steel plate; a two-end height detection unit E that detects the height of the steel plate at the downstream-side end and in the proximity of both widthwise ends; a warping detection unit F that detects warping of the steel plate in the thickness direction; a conveying speed detection unit G that detects the speed at which the steel plate is conveyed; and a control unit 35 that stores print data and specification data including the plate thickness of the material being printed on in advance, converts coordinates of the print data in accordance with the tilt of the steel plate detected by the tilt detection unit C, and performs control so that the print unit B is raised or lowered in correspondence with the thickness detected by the thickness detection unit D.
