Abstract:
Provided is a printer capable of detecting an error in a combination of a rolled paper and a paper flange. A control unit rotates and drives the paper flange by a rotation driving unit while conveying or stopping a recording paper by a paper conveyance unit, or stops rotation and driving of the paper flange while conveying the recording paper by the paper conveyance unit. On the basis of a rotation mode of the paper flange detected by a rotation detection unit at that time, the control unit determines whether a combination of the rolled paper and the paper flange is correct or incorrect.
