Abstract:
This printing device is provided with: a conveyance unit which conveys an impermeable backing material along a conveyance pathway; an image formation unit which forms an image by ejecting a first aqueous ink onto a first surface of the impermeable backing material and then further ejecting a second aqueous ink thereonto; and a dryer unit which is disposed further down from the image formation unit on the downstream side of the conveyance pathway and which heats and dries the first and second aqueous inks ejected onto the impermeable backing material. The dryer unit comprises: a first heating mechanism for heating the impermeable backing material from a second surface disposed on the side opposite to the first surface at heating temperatures not higher than the heatproof temperature of the impermeable backing material; and a second heating mechanism for blowing, from the first surface side of the non-penetrant backing material, hot air at temperatures not lower than the heating temperatures of the first heating mechanism.
