Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a technology which can simplify the configuration of a printing device. This printing device comprises: a load sensor that measures the weight of a rotary body including a roll paper; a storage unit that stores corresponding information; a paper characteristic determination unit which determines, on the basis of the weight of the rotary body measured by the load sensor with respect to the roll paper in an initial state and the corresponding information stored in the storage unit, the paper characteristic of the roll paper mounted on the printing device; and a control unit which controls printing on the basis of the paper characteristic determined by the paper characteristic determination unit.
