Abstract:

A fountain solution system for a printing press is adapted to filter, adjust temperature and minimize foaming of fountain solutions. The fountain solution system filters (620, 630) the fountain solution of most contaminating particles. The fountain solution system may contain heat exchanger(s) (580) to control the temperature of the fountain solution. Furthermore, foaming of the fountain solution is controlled by defoaming devices and a dual reservoir system.
