Abstract:
The present invention describes a process for converting a heavy feedstock that makes it possible to improve the middle distillate selectivity. The process requires a catalytic cracking unit followed by one or more units for oligomerization of olefins having a number of carbon atoms ranging from C2 to C9 that makes it possible to preferably produce an additional cut referred to as a middle distillate. The light part of the oligomer product produced that cannot be incorporated into the middle distillate cut is recycled to the FCC in order to be cracked into light olefins that return to the oligomerization units in addition to olefins from the feedstock in order to preferably form heavy oligomer products that can be incorporated into the middle distillate cut.
