Abstract:
A process for extracting pigment and saponin from turmeric, relating to the technical field of biochemical engineering. The preparation steps comprise: adding turmeric micro-powder to anhydrous ethanol and distilling to separate the anhydrous ethanol to obtain pigment and a solid a in the turmeric; adding the solid a to a low concentration ethanol aqueous solution and, after heating, performing solid-liquid separation to obtain liquid b; in stirring conditions, simultaneously adding acid and petroleum ether solvent to the liquid b to extract the saponin whilst implementing hydrolysis; performing material separation to obtain ethanol aqueous solution, acid solution, and petroleum ether solvent with dissolved saponin, and concentrating and crystallising the petroleum ether solvent with dissolved saponin to obtain the saponin. The present invention obtains the pigment and saponin in turmeric successively during the extraction process, and the extraction of the pigment is performed using anhydrous ethanol, increasing the extraction rate of the pigment and not introducing impurities to the subsequent extraction of saponin.
