Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for extracting saponin from a plant. The preparation step thereof comprises: 1) adding an acid or a petroleum ether solvent and an acid to saponin for hydrolysis while extracting saponin, wherein directly carrying out solid-liquid separation after completing step 1), and subjecting the resulting acid and the petroleum ether solvent in which saponin is dissolved to liquid separation; the acid obtained by liquid separation is returned to step 1) for reuse; and the petroleum ether solvent in which saponin is dissolved and which is obtained by liquid separation is neutralized, then concentrated and crystallized to obtain saponin, and the petroleum ether solvent, which has been concentrated and subjected to separation, is returned, after condensation and recovery, to step 1) for the extraction of saponin. The preparation method omits an alcohol extraction step of a traditional process, integrates the sequence of several steps, realizes the production of saponin without wastewater discharge, and greatly reduces water consumption and acid consumption.
