Abstract:
A primary alcohol or an aldehyde is reacted with ammonia or a primary or secondary amine together with a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a palladium or platinum catalyst under oxidative condition to prepare a corresponding carboxylic acid amide with ease and in high yield.
