Abstract:
Provided is a process for producing a fiberboard which is excellent in terms of bending strength and peel strength, has a low degree of swelling in thickness by water absorption, and has excellent nail-holding power. The process for producing a fiberboard according to the present invention comprises heating and press-forming a fiber mat formed from plant fibers, and is characterized by mixing the plant fibers with a saccharide, subsequently mixing the mixture with an acid, then forming a fiber mat therefrom, and heating and press-forming the formed fiber mat.
