Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a process for producing non-combustible wood, the process being capable of removing impurities including gel-state flocs and of improving the non-combustibility.
[Solution] A first vessel into which dried wood has been introduced is depressurized. An aqueous sodium silicate solution that has been passed through a filter layer and an activated carbon layer, which are for removing impurities, and stored in a fireproofing-agent storage tank in which the carbonic acid gas contained in the air has been removed is injected into the wood while keeping the pressure inside the first vessel reduced. Pressure pulse injection is repeated given times in which while keeping the pressure inside the first vessel elevated and while discharging the aqueous sodium silicate solution within the first vessel, the aqueous sodium silicate solution stored in the fireproofing-agent storage tank is continuously supplied therefrom in a given amount per pulse to the first vessel, thereby injecting the solution into the wood, and after a given period of time has passed, the first vessel is opened to terminate the pressurized state.
