Title:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF AMIDES OR LACTAMS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/105482
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A process for the production of amides or lactams by conducting the rearrangement of an oxime in the presence of a cyclic compound having a structure represented by the general formula (1) as a ring constituent and a fluorinated alcohol to form the corresponding amide or lactam: [Chemical formula 1] (1) (wherein Z is halogeno or -OR, R being an organic group). It is preferable that Z be chloro, and the fluorinated alcohol includes fluorine-containing branched-chain aliphatic alcohols represented by the general formula (3): (3) (wherein Rf1 and Rf2 may be the same or different and are each perfluoroalkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms; and n is an integer of 0 to 8). According to the process, amides or lactams can be easily produced in high yields without generating large amounts of by-products.
