Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce or inhibit plate breakage in completely continuous hot rolling by improving joining properties of edge peripheries of sheet-bar joint portions in a plate width direction, without any accompanying increase in the size of a joining device. When using completely continuous hot rolling to produce a hot-rolled steel sheet, an end shape, in a plate width direction, of a tail end of a preceding sheet bar and/or a tip end of a succeeding sheet bar is formed in a rough rolling step so as to be a tapered shape or a curved shape, and a shear cutter is subsequently used to shear the tail end of the preceding sheet bar and the tip end of the succeeding sheet bar such that at least a portion of the tapered shape and/or the curved shaped is retained.
