Abstract:
A production method of iron carbide for preventing easy formation of free carbon by reducing and carbonizing an iron-containing raw material for iron production by a reaction gas consisting primarily of hydrogen and methane, comprising the step of adding a steam or carbon dioxide from a piping (7) into a fluidized bed type reactor (1), in addition to a reaction gas supplied from a piping (2) into the reactor (1), in accordance with the generated quantity of free carbon inside the reactor (1) measured by a dust meter (9) so as to suppress the generation of free carbon.
