Abstract:
Provided is a method in which unburned carbon is separated from fly ash by flotation and modified fly ash having a reduced unburned carbon content is produced, the production method for modified fly ash comprising: a slurry preparation step in which a slurry containing the fly ash, water, a scavenging agent, and a foaming agent is prepared; a froth removal step in which gas is supplied to the slurry from below to generate bubbles and froth that has formed on the slurry and contains unburned carbon is removed; a scavenging agent replenishment step in which water and the scavenging agent are added to the slurry from which the froth has been removed; and an additional froth removal step in which gas is supplied to the slurry, which has the water and the scavenging agent added thereto, from below to generate bubbles and froth that has formed on the slurry and contains unburned carbon is removed.
