Abstract:
[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an agent and a food composition that can deliver chondroitin sulphate-specific functions in vivo even when orally taken; and a novel use of chondroitin sulphate based on the functions. [Solution] Provided are: a production promoter for chondroitin sulphate, the promoter including chondroitin sulphate oligosaccharide as an active ingredient; an expression promoter for aggrecan; and an expression promoter for type II collagen. This agent tends not to be metabolized by enterobacteria even when orally taken, and is efficiently absorbed in vivo. Thus, according to the present invention, it is possible to effectively promote chondroitin sulphate production, aggrecan expression, or type II collagen expression in vivo.
