Abstract:
The present inventor found that, in a cancer disease, cancer cells showing a large expression amount (production amount) of fibrillarin are associated with poor prognosis (a low survival rate). Also, the present inventor found that the proliferation of cancer cells can be inhibited by reducing the expression amount (production amount) of fibrillarin. As a result, it becomes possible to inhibit the proliferation of poor-prognosis cancer cells to thereby treat a cancer disease by using the inhibitor of the expression or activity of fibrillarin according to the present invention. Typical examples of the inhibitor of the expression or activity of fibrillarin include an siRNA, an shRNA, an antisense, etc.
