Abstract:
Provided is a protection circuit that can reliably prevent overcurrent or sneak current after interruption and improve safety, that can realize a cost reduction with a device structure that is simpler than conventional device structures, and that can reduce a failure rate of the device. A protection circuit 1 is configured such that, after one of two fuse elements provided in each of a plurality of protection elements 10A, 10B, 10C has melted due to an overcurrent in the energization path, a sneak current flowing on the remainder of the energization path through the plurality of protection elements 10A, 10B, 10C causes a heating element provided in at least one of the plurality of protection elements to generate heat which melts the other of the two fuse elements provided in the at least one of the protection elements.
