Abstract:
Provided are: a protection element which is capable of preventing floating of a fusing member and deformation of a soluble conductor and of maintaining a predetermined current capacity and fusing properties; and a battery pack. A protection element 1 comprises a soluble conductor 2 and a fusing member 4 which is connected to one surface of the soluble conductor 2, wherein the fusing member 4 includes an insulating substrate 3 and a deformation suppressing electrode 5 which is formed on a surface 3a of the insulating substrate 3 that is connected to the soluble conductor 2, is connected to the soluble conductor 2, and suppresses deformation of the soluble conductor 2.
