Abstract:
Disclosed is a protective film for polarizing films which has excellent processability while enabling to prevent formation of white spots. Specifically disclosed is a protective film for polarizing films which is made of a polyamide resin and subjected to an alignment process (for example, a drawing process) so that it has a retardation of not less than 300 nm. The polyamide resin may be composed of an alicyclic polyamide resin such as one containing an alicyclic diamine and an alicyclic dicarboxylic acid as the constituents. The polyamide resin may have microcrystallinity, and the Abbe number of the polyamide resin may be, for example, 40 or more.
