Description:
Railway Transport Wagon

The object of the invention is a railway transport wagon designed in particular for the transport of motor vehicles including in particular trucks and passenger cars.

In the state of the art, various types of loading/unloading systems used in rail transport are known. They differ, among other things, in the speed of loading/unloading, the need for additional equipment e.g. cranes for lifting containers. Since rail transport is one of the most advantageous modes of transport in terms of speed, safety and relatively low costs compared with other modes, these systems are being developed particularly in terms of increasing loading/unloading speeds, the absence of the need for additional equipment and versatility, i.e. the possibility of unloading/loading with the use of different infrastructure facilities.

In the state of the art, a railway transport wagon, in particular a wagon for the transport of motor vehicles, is known from the Polish Pat.214797 patent description, comprising a running gear equipped with running gear assemblies and means for coupling with other wagons and/or rail power-driven vehicles and at least one movable, using a driving system mounted on the running gear in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the running gear and a movable platform equipped with at least two rows of rollers, characterised in that said driving system comprises at least one motor working with at least one linkage gear comprising a set of gear wheels on which at least one drive linkage connected to said movable platform is tensioned.

Despite the fact that in the indicated state of the art a movable platform is used, the need arose to develop a railway wagon incorporating a movable platform, the extension of which to the unloading ramp would significantly improve stability and safety, especially during unloading and loading of the movable platform.

The aim of the invention is to provide a railway transport wagon with a movable platform of a design which would be characterised by stability and high speed during loading and unloading and at the same time the railway wagon would be simple and safe to operate.

The essence of the invention is a railway transport wagon comprising a running gear equipped with running gear assemblies and coupling means for coupling with other wagons and/or rail drive vehicles and at least one relocatable, in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the running gear, movable platform, and comprising also at least one drive system which comprises at least one motor connected to at least one linkage gear comprising a set of gear wheels, on which at least one drive linkage connected to said movable platform is tensioned, characterised in that, furthermore, the movable platform is provided with at least two beams with rollers positioned in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the running gear and connected to the drive system via at least one drive linkage, the rollers being located on the side of the movable platform.

The movable platform and the beams with rollers have separate drive systems connected to a single motor.

The movable platform and the beams with rollers have separate drive systems connected to separate motors.

In a preferred embodiment of the wagon according to the invention, the drive motor is an electric or pneumatic or hydraulic or hydraulic-pneumatic motor.

In a preferred embodiment of the wagon according to the invention, the drive linkage is a chain, preferably a ladder chain.

The said drive linkage is preferably detachably connected to beams with rollers.

According to the invention, the beams with the rollers are preferably provided with a right hitch and a left hitch, to which said drive linkage is detachably connected.

The drive linkage is preferably detachably connected to the movable platform. According to the invention, the said movable platform is preferably equipped with a right hitch and a left hitch, to which the drive linkage is detachably connected.

The drive system of the beams with rollers of the transport wagon according to the invention and/or the drive system of the movable platform is preferably equipped with a control system for controlling the speed of the drive linkage. This system is preferably an automatic system.

In a preferred embodiment of the railway transport wagon according to the invention at least two independently transferable movable platforms are installed on one running gear.

The beams with rollers of said movable platform are preferably located in transverse parallel indentations located on the movable platform on the side of the beams with rollers.

The beams with rollers of said movable platform are preferably located in transverse parallel guides mounted on the running gear.

In the fully extended position of the beams with rollers, their ends may be above or below the plane formed by the retracted beams, at a distance of up to 20 cm from this plane.

Preferably, the movable platform and/or the beams with rollers are provided with locking means.

The use of beams incorporating rollers in the movable platform of the railway transport wagon according to the invention considerably improves the stability of the movable platform especially during its extension to the unloading ramp or platform and return to the railway transport wagon. During the extension onto the ramp, the beams with rollers are extended in the first stage and then the moving platform is extended afterwards by the movement of the rollers and the drive system. Once the platform is loaded, the direction of rotation of the rollers is reversed and thus the movable platform extends onto the transport rail wagon, followed by the rollers. The exit of the beams with rollers in the first stage, without the platform, also makes it possible to correct the height by up to 20 cm if the ramp is lowered or raised in relation to the plane in which the beams with rollers move and the moving platform is then extended.

The use of beams with rollers significantly reduces the failure rate which was caused by the load pressure blocking the movement of the rollers d uring the retraction or extension of the movable platform. In the railway transport wagon according to the invention, during the movement of the beams with rollers, the movable platform does not move and the pressure of the load placed on the movable platform on the beams with rollers has been reduced.

Transverse parallel indentations in the movable platform, which are designed to guide the beams with rollers, stabilise the movement of the platform during its extension to the unloading ramp, the platform or its retraction onto the railway transport wagon.

The rail transport wagon according to the invention is characterised by very short loading and unloading times, measured in seconds. This means that the process of loading or unloading an entire rail transport unit containing, for example, several transport wagons according to the invention will be counted in minutes.

The use of several independent platforms on a single running gear of a wagon according to the invention makes it possible to increase the degree of utilisation of the loading space of the wagon and optimises the process of partial loading and unloading of the wagon.

The loading/unloading speed of the wagon can be further increased by using differentiated movement speeds of both the empty and loaded platform and the beams with rollers.

The invention is shown in preferred embodiments in the drawing, in which: fig. 1 shows a railway transport wagon according to the invention in a schematic side view, fig. 2 shows the wagon from fig. 1 in a schematic top view in the position where it is set along the ramp according to the invention and with the beams extended; fig. 3 shows the wagon of fig. 1 in top schematic view in the position where it is set along the ramp according to the invention and with the beams extended and the movable platform.

The main components of the railway transport wagon 1 according to the invention shown in the figures are the running gear 2 and the movable platform 3 on it. The running gear 2 has a truss structure and is equipped with two running gear assemblies in the form of bogies 21. The movable platform 3 has a width similar to that of the running gear 2 and is provided with six beams 31 with rollers 311 (not visible in fig. 1). In the underside of the movable platform 3 there are six indentations adapted in width to the diameter of the rollers 311 - this significantly improves the sliding stability of the movable platform 31. The movement of the beams 31 and of the rollers 311 embedded in the beams is achieved by a drive system 4. The drive system 4 comprises an electric motor driving a linkage in the form of a ladder chain which is connected to the beams 31 with the rollers 311. The movement of the platform 3 is achieved by a linkage connected to the motor of the drive system 4.

In order to carry out the loading or unloading of the railway wagon according to the invention, it is first necessary to properly position the railway wagon 1 with respect to the loading and unloading ramp R.

After the railway transport wagon 1 has been properly positioned, the locking means of the movable platform 3 on the running gear 2 should be released and then the drive system 4 that rolls out the beams 31 with the rollers 311 of the platform 3 should be actuated. Fig. 2 shows a railway transport wagon with extended beams 31 with rollers 311 on a loading and unloading ramp R and comprising a running gear 2 and a movable platform 3 thereon. The running gear 2 is provided with two running gear assemblies in the form of bogies 21.

When the beams 31 with the rollers 311 are fully extended onto the loading and unloading ramp R, the movable platform 3, driven by a linkage cooperating with the drive system 4, is extended, as shown in fig. 3, and the containers or vehicle on it can be removed from it onto the loading and unloading ramp R or a vehicle waiting for loading on the ramp can drive onto the platform 3. Subsequently, the direction of movement of the ladder chain is changed and, in the first stage, the platform 3 is rolled back onto the running gear 2 and, when it is fully back onto the running gear 2, the beams 31 with the rollers 311 are retracted. Once the platform has taken up and secured its position, the wagon 1 can be safely driven away from the ramp R.

To an expert in the field of the invention, it is obvious that several smaller movable platforms can be installed on a single running gear of a wagon according to the invention. In such a case, an independently operating drive system must be provided for each of the platforms, enabling each platform to be moved independently with respect to all the others.

In addition to the ladder chain implementation shown in the example, any other known type of linkage gear, such as, for example, a belt gear, may be used in the wagon according to the invention.

The gear wheel arrangement used in the example shown is also exemplary, whereby it is particularly advantageous as it allows the movable platform to be moved to both the left and the right side of the running gear.

Also, the method of coupling the gear linkage to the movable platform may be any known method other than that described in the example shown, the choice of which is particularly dependent on the anticipated loads on the platform. It should be emphasised that the disconnectable connection of the linkage to the movable platform is only required if two-way loading or unloading functionality is to be achieved. However, if such functionality is not required, the connection between the linkage and the platform may be a non-disconnectable connection.

The motor of the drive system of the wagon according to the invention is preferably an electric motor or an internal combustion engine. If an electric motor is used, it is preferably powered by an appropriate electrical connector from the electrical system of the drive unit of the transport unit according to the invention or directly from the overhead contact line. The drive system of the wagon according to the invention may have a control of the speed of movement of the platform. For example, the speed of movement of an empty platform may preferably be considerably higher (for example twice) than the speed of movement of the platform on which the vehicle is located. In particular, this speed may be controlled by an automatic system determining the speed of movement of the platform displacement from its load state.
