Abstract:
A rapid wide-angle stitching method for high-resolution images, which is intended to improve the speed and accuracy of image matching and comprises: downsampling multiple raw images to be stitched; determining an overlapping area between each downsampled image; using a SURF algorithm to detect feature points in the overlapping area; for the detected feature points, using a BRIEF algorithm to generate feature point descriptors; for the feature point descriptors, using a Brute-Force Matcher algorithm to perform crude matching of feature point pairs; calculating the Hamming distance between two feature point descriptors, and rejecting wrong matching; using a RANSAC algorithm to perform refined matching, solving for a homography matrix, and obtaining the relative positional relationship between each image; and performing image fusion on the overlapping area of each raw image on the basis of a fading in/out weighted average algorithm so as to fuse and stitch the images into a wide-angle image.
