Abstract:
Provided is a raw material feeder that can be operated stably and continuously over a long period, that supplies a raw material to a plurality of evaporation tubes in a falling film evaporator at a steady raw material distribution thereby suppressing the problem of a pyrolysis reactor being blocked by deposits. Also provided is an N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide production method. The raw material feeder for supplying, as the raw material, a liquid compound by distributing the liquid compound to the plurality of evaporation tubes 8 in the falling film evaporator, comprises: a main body unit 51 including a plurality of communication holes 50 respectively facing the plurality of evaporation tubes 8; a limiting orifice 7 housed in the interior of each of the communication holes 50, having an orifice opening 7a; a liquid supply tip 6 housed in the interior of each of the communication holes 50 so as to face the limiting orifice 7 on the upstream side of the limiting orifice 7, and having a hole part 6a facing the orifice opening 7a; a first O-ring 10 fitted externally on the side surface of the liquid supply tip 6 and sandwiched by the side surface of the liquid supply tip 6 and the inner surface of the corresponding communication hole 50; and a second O-ring 11 sandwiched by the liquid supply tip 6 and the limiting orifice 7 in such a manner that the orifice opening 7a is situated in the inner region thereof.
