Abstract:
Provided is a re-sealable container for storing, preserving, identifying, tracking and transporting a federally controlled substance (10) having a child resistant and senior friendly lid (110), and a process for identifying and tracking federally controlled substances within the re-sealable containers. The re-sealable federally controlled substance containers include a two-piece child resistant and senior friendly lid (110) and a 2-factor computer readable authentication identification tag (43), as well as an internal microchip (12A) or an external microchip (12B) for identifying the contained controlled substance contents and tracking the container. Controlled substance contents within the re-sealable containers are optimized for long term storage by removal of the oxygen (158) therein, as well as the addition of humidity control devices (25), and the containers and controlled substance contents can be readily identified, detected, tracked and traced after being filled with a federally controlled substance.
