Abstract:
This reactor comprises: a coil made by connecting a pair of coil elements each made by winding a wire; and a magnetic core. The reactor is used in a vehicle-mounted converter that converts an input voltage. The energization conditions are as follows: the maximum direct current is from 100 A to 1000 A inclusive; the average voltage is from 100 V to 1000 V inclusive; and the operating frequency is from 5 kHz to 100 kHz inclusive. The magnetic core is made by combining a plurality of split core pieces without leaving gaps therebetween. All of the split core pieces are constituted of a molded cured body obtained by curing the resin in a composite material including a magnetic powder and said resin. The distance (t) between the inner peripheral surface of the coil element and the outer peripheral surface of the magnetic core that opposes said inner peripheral surface is from 0.1 mm to 2 mm inclusive.
