Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a reading device and a reading stage with which it is possible to read information of an object being read easily. [Solution] This reader is provided with a reading stage 10 on which a passport P is placed, and a camera module 52 of a smartphone 50 installed on the outside of the reading stage 10 to capture an image of the face of the passport P. The reading stage 10 has a first window 14 provided in an upper portion 22 thereof and over which the face is placed facing downward, and an opening 28 at which the camera module 52 is disposed. The reader is characterized in that the camera module 52 captures an image of the face to be read through the inside of the case 12.
