Abstract:
The present technique relates to a reception device and a reception method enabling a reduction in jitters when a stream is processed. Provided is a reception device comprising a control unit that controls, when divided variable-length packets which are divided fragments of a variable-length packet are included as a transmission stream in which each of a plurality of carriers are sequentially transmitted, a clock for reading data written to a memory on the basis of the amount of data written to a section of predetermined frames and the time of the section of the predetermined frames upon sequentially writing data in a payload portion, the payload portion and the header portion constituting the divided variable-length packets. The present technique is applicable to a receiver supporting digital wired television broadcasting.
