Abstract:
Preventive or therapeutic agents for hyperuricemia and/or gout which little produce adverse effect, containing as the active ingredient substances having both dibenzo[b,f]thiepin or dibenzo[b,f]oxepin skeletons and antioxidant substituents such as hydroxyl, for example, compounds represented by the general formula [1], optical isomers or conjugates thereof, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of them: wherein X is CH2 or the like; Y is CH, C=O, or the like; Z is O, SO2, or the like; and R1 to R8 are each independently hydrogen, an aromatic ring, or the like, with the proviso that at least one of R1 to R8 is hydroxy.
