A remote monitoring system for monitoring plant data that is delivered from a combustion exhaust gas treatment plant for at least cooling/dust-removing combustion exhaust gas from a combustion device and indicates the operating condition of that plant. The remote monitoring system comprises a monitor server (41) including a means (41c) for detecting a trouble in the plant data by collating the plant data from the combustion exhaust gas treatment plant received by a receiving means (41a) with a trouble value read out from a trouble value database (49), and a means (41d) for detecting the cause of a trouble detected from the plant data by the trouble detecting means by reading out a cause related to that trouble from the trouble value database. According to the arrangement, suspension of operation of the plant can be prevented or suppressed by monitoring the operating condition of the combustion exhaust gas treatment plant remotely and finding a trouble in the early stage.
