Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a reporting device and a reporting method capable of reporting appropriate information according to road damage conditions. This reporting device is provided with: a map information acquisition unit that acquires map information including road information; a position information collection unit that collects, in time series, position information of a plurality of communication terminals; a vehicle interior/exterior determination unit that determines, on the basis of at least the time-series position information collected by the position information collection unit, whether each communication terminal is present in the interior or exterior of a vehicle; a road damage estimation unit that estimates road damage of the road on which each communication terminal is present, on the basis of the map information acquired by the map information acquisition unit, the time-series position information collected by the position information collection unit, and the results determined by the vehicle interior/exterior determination unit; and a reporting unit that reports the road damage estimated by the road damage estimation unit.
