Abstract:
A retrieval device 10 comprises: an input unit 11 for accepting a search query from a user; a retrieval unit 12 for calculating the degree of fitness of the search query with each of a plurality of pre-prepared data to be retrieved; a query extension unit 13 for adding an extension query associated with the search query to the search query and thereby generating an extension query; and a policy determination unit 14 for determining, on the basis of the degree of fitness for each piece of data to be retrieved as calculated by the retrieval unit 12, which process should be executed out of a first process of presenting to the user the data to be retrieved having a high fitness degree and a second process of proposing to a user that the degree of fitness for each piece of data to be retrieved be calculated by the retrieval unit 12 using the extension query as a new query.
