Abstract:
A rigid balloon (10) having a structural member (26) which is inserted into a channel portion (20) through apertures (28). Once the structural member (26) has been inserted through the channel portion (20), opposing ends (30) of the structural member (26) can be joined together by a connector (32). The rigid balloon (10) includes skin portions (i.e. top and bottom halves) (12, 14), a valve (24) through which the balloon (10) may be filled with lighter-than-air gas. The structural member (26) may be formed as a ring. The ring may be placed adjacent a first seam (16) and around the chamber (22) before a second seam (18) is formed.
