Abstract:
In this ring block stacked structure, carbon blocks are stacked in a spiralling shape from two locations at the same time to facilitate furnace construction, shorten the construction period, extend the lifetime of the carbon blocks, and contribute to improving economy and productivity. Starter blocks 14 are arranged at the bottommost level, where stacking of basic blocks 13 is begun. The starter blocks 14 consist of sloped blocks 11 and sloped adjustment blocks 15, which have a sloped upper surface, and rectangular sub-blocks 12. The ring-form circumferential portion is divided into four arcuate areas of 90° each, and the upper surfaces of the sloped blocks 11 and the sloped adjustment blocks 15 are configured so as to have a continuous slope in each arcuate area. The sub-blocks 12 are arranged above sloped blocks 11 located in two opposite arcuate areas. The basic blocks 13 are arranged on sloped blocks 11 on which sub-blocks 12 are not arranged and on the sub-blocks 12.
