This ring-fused thiophene compound represented by general formula (1-1): [in the formula, Ar1 and Ar2, which are the same or different from each other, represent a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aromatic ring. R1-1 and R2-1, which are the same or different from each other, represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aryl group, excluding the case where R1-1 and R2-1 are both hydrogen atoms. R1-1 and R2-1 may be bonded together to form a ring together with an adjacent nitrogen atom. R1-1 and/or R2-1 may be bonded to Ar2 to form a ring together with an adjacent nitrogen atom. One of Y1 and Y2 is a group represented by -SO2- and the other is a sulfur atom, a group represented by -SO2-, or a group represented by -CR3 2- (R3's, which are the same or different from each other, represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aryl group.)] or a solvate thereof is capable of highly selectively staining lipid droplets, and has excellent light resistance.
