Abstract:
This road surface condition estimation device extracts a detection signal of a vibration power generation element (11) during a contact interval for detecting the road surface condition. Then, the threshold value used in determining that the vibration detection unit is in the contact interval at that point in time can be varied according to the traveling speed of the vehicle. By adopting this configuration, even if there is a change in the pulse level of the output voltage of the vibration power-generating element according to the traveling speed of the vehicle, a corresponding threshold value can be set. By determining the contact interval using such a threshold value, it becomes possible to perform a determination with a high degree of accuracy. Therefore, it becomes possible to detect the road surface condition with a high degree of accuracy, on the basis of the contact interval determined with a high degree of accuracy.
