Abstract:
A robot is disclosed. A robot according to the present disclosure comprises: a lidar sensor; a memory for storing at least one instruction; and a processor, wherein the processor acquires, on the basis of a sensing value of the lidar sensor, a first map corresponding to the space in which a robot is located, detects obstacles, acquires location information about the obstacles, acquires, on the basis of the location information about the obstacles, the number of times the obstacles are detected in a plurality of areas included in the first map, acquires information about an obstacle area on the basis of the number of times obstacles are detected, and acquires, on the basis of the first map and the information about the obstacle area, a second map including the obstacle area and stores same in the memory.
