Abstract:
[Problem] Provided are a roll for hot rolling process that is more excellent in various durability properties than a conventional one and a method for manufacturing the same in response to the recent demand for manufacturing costs and quality in steelworks. [Means of Solution] A cladding layer 4 containing, in terms of mass ratio, C: 0.5-0.7%, Si: 2.8-4.0%, Cu: 0.9-1.1%, Mn: 1.4-1.6%, Ni: 2.7-3.3%, Cr: 13.5-14.5%, Mo: 0.8-1.1%, Co: 0.9-1.1%, Nb: 0.2-0.4%, and the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities, and having a thickness of 5 mm or more is formed on the outer circumferential part of a roll 1 for hot rolling process. The cladding layer 4 is preferably formed by a continuous pouring process for cladding.
