Abstract:

A calender device (1) is provided with: adjacent first and second rolls (12A, 12B); a first shaft box (14A) rotatably supporting a first roll shaft; a second shaft box (14B) rotatably supporting a second roll shaft and adjacent to the first shaft box; an adjustment unit (18A) for adjusting the position of the first shaft box so as to bring into proximity and space out the first roll and the second roll; at least one sensor unit (24A) interposed between the first shaft box and the second shaft box and in contact with both; and a controller (26). The sensor unit includes a distance sensor provided with an expanding and contracting part that expands and contracts in the direction in which the first and second shaft boxes are lined up. The controller controls the adjustment unit on the basis of the amount of expansion and contraction of the expanding and contracting part.
