Abstract:
Provided is a root-knot nematode resistance marker for a tomato plant, the tomato plant demonstrating dominant root-knot nematode resistance. Also provided is a novel root-knot nematode resistant tomato plant demonstrating a root-knot nematode resistance that has a dominant root-knot nematode resistance gene locus and that is not dependent on the temperature conditions of a growing environment. Also provided is a production method for a root-knot nematode resistant tomato plant, the production method using the root-knot nematode resistant tomato plant. Also provided is a screening method for a root-knot nematode resistant tomato plant. The root-knot nematode resistant tomato plant of the present invention has a root-knot nematode resistance gene locus on the fourth chromosome. The root-knot nematode resistance gene locus can be specified as, for example, solcap_snp_sl_21346, solcap_snp_sl_21364, TK43, YU06, YK66, TY38, AR02, HT12, solcap_snp_sl_64250, solcap_snp_sl_21383, solcap_snp_sl_21385, and solcap_snp_sl_21390. Progeny tomato plants of the variety provided with the root-knot nematode resistance can be obtained by crossbreeding the root-knot nematode resistant tomato plant of the present invention with other tomato plants.
