Description:
A ROPE

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a rope having a central bundle, a first layer which wraps said central bundle, a second layer which wraps said first layer, a third layer which wraps said second layer.

PRIOR ART

Steel wire ropes are the most stressed essential elements of transport machines like cranes. Different operation conditions have necessitated the production of various types of ropes. Since load is distributed to pluralities of wires which exist in the rope, the operation safety is substantially high. Wire ropes can be operated at high operation speeds, there is a suitable proportion between their own weights and carriage capacities and they have a big elastic extension amount. During operation, they can be visually controlled easily. The carrying capacities and operation characteristics of wire ropes do not change at low temperatures. The purpose of calculation of the wire rope is to be able to select the rope which has sufficient operation lifetime and rotational torque resistance. In the selection of the rope, fatigue resistance and the abrasion resistance must be taken into account.

Wire ropes are made of high resistance thin steel wires. These steel wires are made of high carbon wire rods made of arc steel, Siemens-Martin steel or oxygen steel. The wire rod is heated up to a temperature which is above the structure change point, and afterwards, it is cooled in fluid sand beds at temperature between 450 e C and 500 e C or in lead bath and it is subjected to thermal processing named as isothermic patenting. The purpose is to provide sorbitic or troostitic structure to the material in order to realize the wire drawing process in a firm manner. Thin wires with wire diameters between 0.2 mm and 2.4 mm are wrapped in helical form around a core wire in a one or more than one layered manner and thereby bundles are formed, and the bundles are wrapped around a core in helical form and thereby rope is formed.

The wires of the steel ropes which are not rotatable and which are resistant to rotation are thin and sensitive; therefore, they must be carefully used. Here, as the number of wires increases, the resistance to rotation and the flexibilities also increase. However, the excessiveness of the wire number further increases the production costs.

In rope production; in case the wire number cannot be designed in an optimum manner, the costs like raw material cost and labor cost increase extraordinarily. In this case, problems occur like breaks depending on resistance and torque resistance and deformation occurs which is more rapid than expected. As a result of these problems, conditions like work accident, production cost increase, narrowing in market share are faced.

As a result, because of the abovementioned problems, an improvement is required in the related technical field.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a rope, for eliminating the abovementioned disadvantages and for bringing new advantages to the related technical field.

An object of the present invention is to provide a rope where torque resistance is increased.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a rope where the number of wires is reduced.

In order to realize the abovementioned objects and the objects which are to be deducted from the detailed description below, the present invention relates to a rope having a central bundle, a first layer which wraps said central bundle, a second layer which wraps said first layer, a third layer which wraps said second layer. Accordingly, the improvement of the present invention is that the first layer and the second layer are wrapped in the same wrapping direction, and the third layer is wrapped in a direction which is opposite to the wrapping direction of the first layer and the second layer, the central bundle, provided at the center, is a first type bundle having a first diameter, four bundles, provided at the first layer, are first type bundle having a first diameter, four bundles, provided at the second layer, are second type bundle having the second diameter, the twenty bundles, provided at the third layer, are third type bundle having third diameter. Thus, the diameter of the third type bundles which exist at the third layer is kept as narrow as possible and the diameter of the bundles which exist at the inner part is kept wide, and depending on this, the torque resistance is increased and since the diameter of the third type bundles is small, the contact area at the outer part of the rope is increased and the abrasion resistance is improved. In a possible embodiment of the present invention, at least one central bundle wire is provided essentially at the center of the central bundle.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, the first type bundle essentially has at least one first bundle wire at the side thereof which faces outwardly.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, the second type bundle essentially has at least one second bundle wire at the side thereof which faces outwardly.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, the third type bundle essentially has at least one third bundle wire at the side thereof which faces outwardly.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, the central bundle essentially has 7 central bundle wires.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, the first type bundle essentially has 36 wires.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, four second bundle wires are provided at the side of the second type bundle which faces outwardly.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, four third bundle wires are provided at the side of the third type bundle which faces outwardly. Thus, the contact area of the rope to the peripherals is increased, and depending on this, improvement is provided in the abrasion resistance.

In another possible embodiment of the present invention, the central bundle wire, the second bundle wire and the third bundle wire are essentially provided so as to be the conjugate of each other. Thus, plainness in production is provided by means of commonization of the wires.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

In Figure 1 , the representative cross-sectional view of the layers of the subject matter rope is given. In Figure 2, the representative cross-sectional views of the first type of rope, the second type of rope and the third type of rope of the subject matter rope are given.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the subject matter is explained with references to examples without forming any restrictive effect only in order to make the subject more understandable.

In Figure 1 , a representative cross-sectional view of the layers of the subject matter rope (10) is given. Accordingly, said rope (10) is essentially used as safe load lifting equipment. It is particularly used in tower cranes, portal cranes and mobile cranes having big length.

There is at least one central bundle (20) provided at the center of the subject matter rope (10). At least seven central bundle wires (40) are provided in said central bundle (20) such that one is positioned at the center thereof and the others are positioned at the side thereof facing outwardly. The central bundle (20) has a predetermined central diameter (DO) and can vary depending on the location where it will be used.

There is a first layer (21) which wraps the central bundle (20), a second layer (22) which wraps said first layer (21), a third layer (23) which wraps said second layer (22). The first layer (21) and the second layer (22) are wrapped in the same wrapping direction. The third layer (23) is wrapped in a direction which is opposite to the wrapping direction of the first layer (21) and the second layer (22). Thus, 50% increase is provided in the rotation resistance of the rope (10) when compared with the ropes (10) wrapped in a co-directional manner.

There are four first type bundles (31) at the first layer (21) which wraps the central bundle (20). Said first type bundle (31) essentially has a first diameter (D1) and at least one first bundle wire (41) is provided at the side which faces outwardly. The first type bundle (31) essentially has 36 wires including the first bundle wire (41 ).

Four second type bundles (32), having at least one second diameter (D2), are provided at the second layer (22). Essentially four second bundle wires (42) are positioned at the side of the second type bundle (32) which faces outwardly. In said embodiment, the second diameter (D2) of the second type bundle (32) is provided to be smaller than the first diameter (D1) of the first type bundle (31). Said second type bundle (32) is essentially provided at the intermediate gaps which exist at the sides of the first type bundles (31) which face outwardly. Thanks to this, the gapped area which exists in the rope (10) is reduced and the resistance is increased. The periphery of the second type bundles (32) provided in the second layer (22) is at least one fourth diameter (D4). Said fourth diameter (D4) is essentially equal to the sum of the central diameter (DO) and two first diameters (D1).

Twenty third type bundles (33) are provided which have third diameter (D3) at the third layer (23). Essentially four third bundle wires (43) are positioned at the side of the third type bundle (33) which faces outwardly. The periphery of the third type bundles (33) provided at the third layer (23), in other words, the furthest sides of the rope (10) which face outwardly have a fifth diameter (D5). In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the central bundle wire (40), the second bundle wire (42) and the third bundle wire (43) are essentially provided to have dimensions which will be the conjugate of each other. Thanks to this, communization and production easiness are provided during the production stage.

When the subject matter rope (10) and the ropes (10) which exist in the prior art and which have the same diameter as the subject matter rope (10) are compared, since the third type bundle (33) is used which has the smallest third diameter (D3) at the third layer (23) which exists at the outermost part, the third layer (23) is provided to be as far as possible from the center of the rope (10). Thus, the third layer (23), wrapped in the opposite direction with respect to the other layers, is provided to be far from the center of the rope (10), and depending on this, the rotation resistance is increased. Moreover, since the third layer (23) is made of third type bundles (33) which have third diameter (D3) which is as small as possible, the fourth diameter (D4) formed by the central bundle (20), the first layer (21) and the second layer (22) is provided to be as big as possible. By means of this, the torque factor value determined by the resistance to rotation can be provided to be in the vicinity of 0.005. Again since the third layer (23) is made of third type bundles (33) which have third diameter (D3) which is as small as possible, the contact area at the outer side of the rope (10) increases, and depending on this, the abrasion resistance is improved. Thus, a rope (10) is obtained with increased rotational resistance and with increased abrasion resistance.

On the other hand, the production costs are reduced since only three types of bundles are used in the production of the subject matter rope (10), namely, the first type bundle (31), the second type bundle (32) and the third type bundle (33) are used in the production of the subject matter rope (10).

The protection scope of the present invention is set forth in the annexed claims and cannot be restricted to the illustrative disclosures given above, under the detailed description. It is because a person skilled in the relevant art can obviously produce similar embodiments under the light of the foregoing disclosures, without departing from the main principles of the present invention.
