This rotary electrical machine is provided with: a stator having stator core to which a plurality of slots have been formed aligned in the peripheral direction, and a stator coil having an insulating film and inserted within the slots of the stator core; and a rotor disposed rotatably with respect to the stator core with a predetermined gap therebetween. The stator coil is provided with: a plurality of phases of primary coil obtained by connecting a plurality of segment coils formed by pre-forming a conductor having a rectangular cross-section into an approximate U-shape; a first sub-coil that is connected to one end of each primary coil and that includes a lead wire led out from the slot and to which an AC terminal is attached; and a second sub-coil that is connected to the other end of each primary coil and that includes a neutral line led out from the slot. The lead wire and neutral line are configured from conductors having a folded structure comprising a plurality of linear sections and bent sections.
