Abstract:
Provided is a rotary inertia mass damper in which axial-direction counterforce occurring in response to input vibration can be kept as small as possible when vibration having an excessive rate of acceleration is inputted, and damage to the damper itself or to the structure thereof can be prevented in advance. The rotary inertia mass damper is provided with a first coupling part (10) fixed to a first structural body, a second coupling part (11) coupled to a second structural body, a threaded shaft (30) connected at one shaft end to the first coupling part and non-rotatably held, a fixed cylinder (20) having a hollow part that accommodates the threaded shaft and being connected to the second coupling part, and rotational solids (40, 50, 60) rotatably held relative to the fixed cylinder, threaded with the threaded shaft, and rotated back and forth in accordance with the reciprocation of the threaded shaft relative to the fixed cylinder. Between a shaft end of the threaded shaft and the first coupling part is provided a torque-limiting member (3), which allows the threaded shaft (30) to rotate relative to the first coupling part (10) and reduces the rotational angle of the rotational solids when rotational torque exceeding a prescribed value is exerted on the threaded shaft.
