Abstract:
A rotary press capable of dealing with a variation of the position of the print cylinder and provided with a safety device of simple constitution. In the rotary press (1) comprising a print section (6) having a plate cylinder (15) and a blanket cylinder (17), an inking roller (20), and a safety device disposed in the vicinity of the print section (6). The cut-off length of a web (11) can be altered by altering the diameters of the plate cylinder (15) and the blanket cylinder (17). The safety device comprises a safety bar mechanism (37) for stopping the operation when detecting entrance of an object into the contact part of the plate cylinder (15) and the blanket cylinder (17) and/or a safety cover (30) so arranged to shield the plate cylinder (15), the inking roller (20) and the blanket cylinder (17) from the outside. The forward end of the safety cover (30) and the safety bar mechanism (37) can be relocated to positions corresponding to the movement incident to alteration in diameters of the plate cylinder (15) and the blanket cylinder (17).
