Description

ROTARY TYPE STORAGE UNIT/MAGAZINE FOR UNFINISHED/FINISHED RUBBER COT ARBOUR LOADING/UNLOADING SYSTEM AND AN AUTOMATIC RUBBER COT GRINDING/BUFFING MACHINE COMRPISING THE SAME

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to Rotary type storage unit/magazine for unfinished/finished rubber cot arbour loading/unloading system and an automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine comprising the same.

More particularly this invention relates to a rotary type storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading a large number of unfinished/finished rubber cot arbour in automatic rubber cot grinding/buffing machine, wherein of the said rotary type magazines are adopted to be provided side by side on the same side of rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine and each of the said rotary type magazine having a large number radial slots provided in a pair of discs so as to occupy a small space and thereby making the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine is a compact and ergomatic.

Rubber cot arbour mainly comprises a steel spindle or axle provided with one or two rubber cots used as top rollers in Ring Frame, Speed Frame, Draw Frame, Combers, etc. of cotton/synthetic yarn spinning mills, in the textile industries.

The arbours or top rollers used in Draw Frames or Combers are provided with single long cot up to 400 mm in length in the middle of the axle portion, while the arbours or top rollers used in Ring Frames or Speed Frames are provided with a pair of cots, one each at the two ends of the axle. The cots are preferably made of rubber. A very large number of top rollers or rubber cot arbours are used in a Spinning mill/machine, which work continuously at a high speed.

Regular grinding of the rubber cot arbours is required for ensuring quality of yarn by reducing thread breaks and minimizing lap formation. Generally centreless grinding is used for rubber cot arbours of Ring Frames and Speed Frames and 'with centre grinding' is used for Draw Frames and Comber Cots.

Rotary type storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbour are also known and used in the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machines sold in the market under the brand name εERKOL' ®

manufactured by λ HUBER + SUHNER'. But in the existing rubber cot arbour grinding machines the draw back are as under:

Rubber cot arbour storage magazine has low capacity and, hence requires frequent loading and unloading of arbours, needing frequent attention of the operator and taking more time.

Unfinished job arbour magazine entry is over the grinding stone wheel head unit and the exit is from the back side of the grinding wheel resulting into inline or angular longer path, making the machine operations complicated and needing more floor space even with low capacity.

The capacity of the loading/unloading storage unit/magazine is not adequate thereby needing frequent loading of unfinished rubber cot arbours as well as frequent unloading of finished rubber cot arbours, thereby needing more man power for handling the rubber cot arbour grinding machine.

In the existing rubber cot arbour loading/unloading units/magazine rubber cot arbours are not safely loaded / unloaded.

In the existing rubber cot arbour loading/unloading units/magazine adjustment for accommodating various sizes of rubber cot arbour is complicated.

In the existing rubber cot arbour loading/unloading units/magazine loading of the unfinished rubber cot arbour from the storage unit/magazine to the grinding machine is not very smooth as well as unloading of the finished rubber cot arbours form the grinding machine to the storage units/magazine is also not very smooth.

In our co-pending patent application no. 1681/MUM/2006 Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine has been described and claimed, which comprises a pair of identical rubber cot arbour storage units adopted to the provided side by side only on one side of the automatic rubber cot grinding/buffing machine, each of the said rubber cot arbour loading/unloading unit/magazine consisting of a plurality of trays being kept inclined and arranged vertically in a spaced apart manner in a pair of columns, mounted on a pair of frames keeping the two trays of a pair at the same level with an adjustable central gap, as desired, forming a straight track for the rubber cot arbours.

In our co-pending patent application no. 1682/MUM/2006 An automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine has also been described and claimed comprising an unfinished arbour storage unit/loading machine for safe storing of a large number of unfinished arbour in minimum floor space, an unfinished arbour conveyer unit provided adjacent to the said loading magazine for taking the arbour from the said loading magazine and smooth conveying to a measuring unit or a carriage one by one, a rubber cot diameter measuring unit, provided adjacent to the said unfinished arbour conveyer unit, for measuring the cot diameter one by one and comparing with the predetermined set diameter, as pre programmed for rejecting of the arbours, not suitable for grinding in the rejection tray, a loading -unloading carriage provided adjacent to the said measuring unit, for loading unfinished arbours to an arbour holder unit for grinding and simultaneously unloading finished arbour after grinding into a finished arbour conveyer unit, a centre less rubber cot arbour holding and guiding the device provided substantially perpendicularly to the said arbour loading-unloading carriage, for one by one holding and precisely guiding the unfinished arbour for grinding and pushing out the finished arbour after grinding, on to the said carriage for unloading, a grinding wheel head unit, provided adjacent to the said arbour holder unit, movable along X-axis and Y-axis for grinding/buffing the rubber cot arbours as per presetting of fix diameter or fix cut, a dressing tool unit, provided adjacent to the said grinding wheel head unit, for dressing the

grinding wheel after grinding a predetermined number of arbours, a finished arbour conveyer unit, provided adjacent to the said carriage on its unloading end for smoothly conveying the finished arbour one by one to a finished arbour storage unit /unloading magazine provided adjacent to the finished arbour conveyer unit and adjacent and parallel to the said unfinished arbour storage unit/loading magazine. A control panel for controlling all the operations of arbour grinding machine in a sequence as per desired program, all the units being mounted on a main frame and enclosed in a body having suitable doors, windows and covers.

The main object of this invention is while obviating all the draw backs of the existing rubber cot arbour grinding machine, is to provide an alternative to the unfinished/finished rubber cot arbour storage unit/magazine of our co-pending patent application nos. 1681/MUM/2006, which is capable of storing large number of rubber cot arbours in the radial slots of a pair of discs, which is rotated in a controlled manner and used for loading unfinished rubber cot arbours as well as unloading finished rubber cot arbours in the automatic grinding/buffing machine smoothly without needing unfinished rubber cot arbour conveyer unit as well as finished rubber cot arbour conveyer unit and thereby making the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine of our co-pending patent application no. 1682/MUM/2006 further compact and ergomatic.

Another object of this invention is to provide rotary type storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in which a large number of unfinished as well as finished rubber cot arbours can be store in a smaller space thereby increasing the loading capacity of the grinding machine, while maintaining its compactness.
