Abstract:

Provided are rubber coated cord manufacturing method and device in which, when rubber coated cords are serially manufactured, the speed of a work for exchanging cords is increased so that the productivity can be improved. A leading cord 18a is passed through a leading head 4a while unvulcanized rubber R extruded from a rubber extruder 2 is being supplied to fill the leading head 4a, whereby a rubber coated cord 19a using the leading cord 18a is manufactured. Further, the leading end of a next cord 18b is previously set in a next head 4b while being in a passed state. After a prescribed length of the rubber coated cord 19a using the leading cord 18a is manufactured, the leading head 4a is switched to a next head 4b by means of a switching mechanism 5 so as to be filled with the unvulcanized rubber R, and the next cord 18b the leading end range of which is bonded to the rear end of the rubber coated cord 19a using the leading cord 18a, is passed through the next head 4b, whereby a rubber coated cord 19b using the next cord 18b is manufactured.
