Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a rubber composition for a tire that can improve workability and wet grip capability while maintaining rupture strength which is a property of hydrogenated copolymers; and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition. The present invention is a rubber composition for a tire and is characterized by containing: a rubber component that includes a hydrogenated copolymer obtained by hydrogenating an aromatic vinyl–conjugated diene copolymer, the hydrogenated copolymer being configured such that a weight-average molecular weight measured using gel permeation chromatography is at least 300,000, and such that the hydrogenation rate of the conjugated diene part is at least 80 mol%; and a resin with a softening point of at least 60°C, the resin being of at least one type selected from the group consisting of petroleum resin, phenol-based resin, rosin-based resin, and terpene-based resin.
