Abstract:
This safety diagnosis system for a passenger conveyor which has a truss installed so as to be slidable with respect to a building comprises: a building vibration measurement device which measures the vibrations of the building; an interlayer displacement calculation unit which calculates the interlayer displacement of the building on the basis of the measurement value of the building vibration measurement device; a storage unit which stores the buckling displacement of the truss; and a buckling determination unit which compares the interlayer displacement calculated by the interlayer displacement calculation unit with the buckling displacement stored in the storage unit to determine whether or not buckling occurs in the truss. Examples of the building vibration measurement device include an acceleration sensor which is provided on the ground of the building, and examples of the interlayer displacement calculation unit include a building analysis model which reproduces the vibrations of the building using a spring-mass-damper system. The ground-surface acceleration measured by the acceleration sensor is given as an input to the building analysis model, thereby calculating the interlayer displacement.
