Abstract:
The invention concerns a safety device (1) for a diver diving underwater using a diving breathing apparatus (2). The safety device (1) comprises: - means for acquiring ventilatory data of the diver comprising at least one device, referred to as an adapter, interposed between the mouthpiece and the diving breathing apparatus (2) in order to measure the ventilatory flow rates and pressures of the diver, and a thoracic differential pressure sensor, said acquisition means being configured to determine the ventilatory work and the hydrostatic imbalance; - means for real-time analysis of data acquired by said acquisition means, placed in a sealed housing (3) to be worn by the diver and configured to determine the presence or absence of a risk of immersion pulmonary oedema; and - an alert means configured to issue an alert in the event that it is determined that a risk of immersion pulmonary oedema is present.
